I Choose Nuts

(from my book: You have the Right to Remain Silent. . . Unless you talk):

                                             I Chews Nuts

I used to go to a produce market where they sold quantity peanuts in the shells. They had a big scoop, but I like the best quality food, so I picked them one by one. As I picked them one by one with my right hand, I got the idea I could train my left hand to do it at the same time. So now, whenever I pick out peanuts I can do it twice as fast.

Talk about the monkey mind.

Anyway, at first my left hand couldn’t do it, but then after a few more attempts we were off and running so fast I got done in half the time. After that, I never had to worry about getting work. The Universe is unlimited. Offers came from everywhere. But I’m already living in a circus, no need to move to the zoo.

You can use nuts, or choose to be nuts if you want, but you probably aren’t reading this in the produce section of a market. Now a days it’s pretty hard to find nuts that aren’t bagged. So instead of chewing nuts, do the next exercise.

A whole mind focuses intent.

Put your hands in front of you as if you’re praying. That is, put your palms together, thumbs and fingers touching. Now, clasp your hands and make kind of a big fist in front of you. Don’t strain, but hold tightly. Memorize how this feels.

Good. Now open your hands and again put them in front of you, as if praying with you palms together. This time as you clasp them together, notice there is a different way of doing this. The first time, you probably put your left thumb over your right thumb and interlaced your fingers. Now, put your right thumb over your left thumb and interlace your fingers.

There are two ways to do this exercise. Whichever way you did it the first time, do it differently the next time.
